Ideally, where a fault occurs the localized protective device should clear the fault, otherwise, the fault travels back through the system and may trip the building main service device, thus losing power to the entire facility.

eMobility, the development of electric-powered drivetrains, is shifting vehicle design away from fossil fuels and carbon gas emissions. As a trusted leader in connecting solutions for the automotive industry, the Oetiker Group provides the same high-quality connections for mission-critical Electric Vehicle applications.
American Electric Power (AEP), the largest transmission grid operator in the U.S, is tackling the energy transition head-on by implementing a digital twin of its entire transmission network. By breaking down data silos, the utility will have one common network model that all departments work from to ensure reliable planning, operation, and protection of the power grid.
In the 1970s, PSSE was the first interactive network simulation software to run on premise and now it redefines what is possible in Grid Planning. PSSE Cloud combines your most trusted transmission planning tool with the power of the cloud. Visit the PSSE Cloud website to learn how users in U.S. and Canada can now unlock scalable computation power, secure collaboration, flexible remote working, and more!
The proliferation of renewables (Inverter Based Resources) in the power system is increasing the number of Harmonic Distortions. Network planners, such as yourself, now need to consider Harmonic distortions, according to industry standards, to better prepare mifor tigatory actions detrimental to system operations and power quality. With the new Harmonics add-on module, you can now:
Today, with smart technologies and alternative energy resources, our power grid is changing constantly. To stay current, users need to determine the transmission transfer capability by simulating network conditions with equipment outages during changing network conditions and by simulating generation dispatch in an efficient manner. Power system planners and operators are typically using in-house, excel-based, and nonintegrated tools that can be error prone and time consuming to update. Building on the basic linear analysis capabilities in PSSE, the new PSSE Advanced Linear Analysis add-on module enables you to calculate linear distribution factors and determine analytics about your network topology to perform transfer limit analysis, security constrained economic dispatch, advanced contingency analysis and impact and sensitivity analysis.
Extended tools for allowing PSSE users to perform strong power flow and contingency analysis customizations, including the ability to model Remedial Action Schemes (RAS) and Special Protection Systems (SPS). Includes fast PSSE contingency analysis results APIs, contingency results to database APIs, power flow and contingency analysis Python extension framework and functions for complex, user-defined RAS and SPS schemes.
The PSSE Dynamic Simulation module is a versatile tool to investigate system response to disturbances that cause large and sudden changes in the power system. The dynamic simulation module employs a vast library of built-in models for modeling different types of equipment, and with capability to create user defined models of any complexity. An integrated dynamic simulation plotting package allows for quick generation of plotting with ability to export to several popular graphic formats.
Power system planners and operators require technical tools to conduct studies to assess the impact of GIC currents in the power grid and prepare mitigation measures. The value added GIC module for PSSE meets this requirement using the latest method of calculation recommended by NERC. The method used is induced voltages in transmission lines from voltage sources.
The PSSE Short Circuit module has a number of short circuit calculation algorithms to meet the diverse needs of fault analyses. All algorithms are self-contained analyses in PSSE. They require a valid power flow working case and the power system sequence data.
The Optimal Power Flow (OPF) module goes beyond traditional load flow analysis to provide the ability to fully optimize and refine your transmission systems. OPF improves the efficiency of power system performance studies by adding intelligence to the load flow solution process. Whereas the conventional load flow relies on the engineer to systematically investigate a variety of solutions before arriving at a satisfactory or good solution, OPF automatically adjusts controls to determine the best solution.
The Graphical Model Builder (GMB) module, powered by PSSSINCAL Platform, is a powerful and easy-to-use dynamics model development tool based on graphic representation of control block diagrams. Accurate power system planning requires that precise models be used in the simulation software. PSSE software is designed for dynamic modeling of complex systems. GMB allows specialized modeling by supporting both standard and non-standard dynamic models.
Configuration note: Tape drive support options provide wrap tools (loopback connectors) to isolate drive sled issues. The Fibre Tape Drive Support is required when at least one Fibre Channel tape drive is installed in the tape library, and the SAS Tape Drive Support is required when at least one SAS tape drive is installed in the tape library.
The TS4300 modules support up to two redundant hot-swap 230 W AC power supplies. The base module comes with one power supply, and the second power supply can be ordered for redundancy. The expansion module comes without power supplies, and the first power supply is required when at least one tape drive is installed in the expansion module.

Yes, I agree about VS2010. I miss the good ole days of fast POCO and WinForms. I've been building a Blazor WASM app since 2020 and regret ever leaving WinForms. "Everyone" said it was dying and I believed it. We started a new greenfield project using Blazor. Ironically, the same people use WinForms based tools to build their web apps!
Glad someone else is out there that recognizes the same issues. It's getting hard to make a living at this when I can't get tools to work and make a deadline. This has been the toughest few years of my coding career. I thought things get better with "new" tech. I'd take a cooperative IDE and the "old" framework if it helped me be successful at my job. The people signing my checks would rather see a working project too. 2ff7e9595c
